JAZZ

  • In partnership with the New Jersey Community Development Corporation (NJCDC), Prototype Productions - the production company leg of Prototype 237 - launches ALL THIS JAZZ, a free jazz series hosted on the fourth Friday of every month, at NJCDC’s Rogers Music Hall in Paterson’s Historic Great Falls Neighborhood.

Designed as a welcoming, high-quality showcase, the series highlights a wide range of jazz styles — from traditional ensembles to jazz fusion, folk-jazz, and high-energy sax-led jazz — performed by top musicians from across New Jersey, including artists affiliated with William Paterson University’s highly regarded jazz program.

Each evening extends beyond the stage. Food vendors and artisan vendors are part of the experience, and musicians are invited to join a jam session at the end of the night — reinforcing the idea that jazz, at its core, is participatory.

    MIKE NOORDZY TRIO

Bassist and composer Mike Noordzy leads this Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts-based trio with saxophonist Jeremy Leon and drummer Logan Bogdan through a set of standards and originals fueled by loose grooves and deep, unpredictable improvisation. Drawing from Noordzy’s wide musical world — spanning jazz, avant-garde, Afro-Cuban, and experimental projects — the trio balances tradition with risk, letting the music unfold in the moment.

    APRIL 24TH @ 6:30p

From 2021-22, he played with the New Jersey Guitar Orchestra, including concerts at NJCU, Kean University and the Long Island Guitar Festival. Additionally, he was featured in programs for WPU's GuitarFest and Emerging Classical Guitar Network. He plays a 1978 No. 15 Masaru Kohno nylon string guitar.
